Vancouver, British Columbia

Outdoor photographer and storyteller.

I photograph British Columbia and write the trips behind the pictures: the camps, the road days, and the trails I have actually walked. That is me, working a Banff lakeshore in October 2022.

About

Hi, I am Parveen Singh

Outdoor photographer and storyteller, based in Vancouver

I photograph the coast, the alpine, and the road days in between, then write the trip so you can stand in the same place. Every trail, camp, and trip on this site is one I have actually done. Some of the photographs on those pages are of the view. Some of them are of me, because I was there.

That is the whole method. I would rather keep a small body of work I can stand behind than cover the province. Where I have not been recently, the date on the page says so.

From the trail

A few days I can put a face to. Each frame links to the guide from that visit.

One trip worth the drive, written after I was there.

Fall Colours on the Duffey Lake Road: A One-Day 600 km Loop from Surrey

The best single-day fall drive out of the Lower Mainland: roughly 600 km and 15 hours that trades the Fraser Canyon for the Duffey Lake Road at peak cottonwood yellow. Go in the last week of September or the first week of October, fill up in Lillooet, and accept that the Sea to Sky leg home will be in the dark.

One letter a month, after the hike

New photographs, a story from the road or the campsite, and what is actually happening on the trails. Written after I was there.
